The Story of a String Storyteller: A Journey of Empathy and Inclusion

From February 12-18, 2024, Klub zdravega Življenja in Športa Vida participated in the inspiring Erasmus+ project, The Story of a String Storyteller, hosted in Spain. Together with 48 participants from six countries—Spain, Turkey, the Czech Republic, Slovenia, Romania, and Hungary—we explored the challenges faced by visually impaired individuals and worked to foster empathy and awareness.

The project emphasized understanding the obstacles in employment, social life, and sports for visually impaired individuals. Through interactive activities, cultural exchanges, and group discussions, participants developed new perspectives on inclusion and social responsibility. A special focus on Spain’s unique tradition of visually impaired storytellers highlighted the power of creativity and resilience.

Participants also gained insights into the Erasmus+ program and Youthpass certification, which supported their personal and professional growth. The experience strengthened intercultural bonds, improved language skills, and encouraged a more inclusive and empathetic worldview.
